Woodchucks

Wildlife Services: Woodchucks

Woodchucks, also known as groundhogs to some, are large rodents native to Vermont and New Hampshire. They can cause structural damage to buildings and homes while also ruining gardens and lawns. They build burrows and tunnel systems under your lawn and house and have many entrances to escape predators. These holes in your lawn can cause cave-ins and potholes and be hazardous to people and pets walking around. Woodchucks burrowing can cause damage to your decks and pools as well. While they are not typically aggressive and rarely carry diseases, they're not an animal you want on your property.
